How Bundles are Detected
BundleIQ uses a 5-tier confidence system to automatically detect product bundles in your store:
Detection Methods (Highest to Lowest Confidence)
| Method | Confidence | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Native Shopify | 100% | Official Shopify Bundles app products |
| Simple Bundles | 95% | Metafield-based bundles (Shopify Bundles compatible) |
| Title Keywords | 80% | Product titles containing "bundle", "set", "kit", "pack" |
| Tags | 70% | Products tagged with "bundle", "kit", "set" |
| SKU Prefixes | 60% | SKUs starting with "BND-", "KIT-", "SET-" |
Tip: Use higher confidence methods (native bundles or metafields) for the most accurate detection.
Confidence Levels Explained
Each detected bundle has a confidence score indicating how reliably BundleIQ believes it's a real bundle:
Confidence Badges
- ✓ Confirmed - Native Shopify or Simple Bundles
- ✓ High - Title keyword match
- ✓ Medium - Tag or SKU pattern match
Managing False Positives
If BundleIQ incorrectly identifies a product as a bundle:
- Go to the Bundles page
- Find the incorrectly flagged item
- Click "Edit" to view bundle details
- Click "Remove as Bundle" to exclude it from analysis
Viewing Bundles
The Bundles page shows all detected bundles with key information:
Bundle List
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Product title of the bundle |
| Components | Number of individual products in the bundle |
| Revenue | Total sales revenue |
| Profit | Gross profit (requires COGS setup) |
| Margin | Gross margin percentage |
| Grade | A-F profitability grade |

Filtering & Sorting
- Filter by grade (A, B, C, D, F)
- Filter by confidence level
- Sort by revenue, profit, margin, or date
- Search by bundle name
Bundle Components
Each bundle consists of one or more component products. The Components page shows:
Component Details
- Product Name: Title of the component
- Variant: Specific variant (size, color, etc.)
- Quantity: How many are in the bundle
- Price: Individual selling price
- COGS: Cost of goods sold (if configured)
Order Analysis
BundleIQ analyzes how components are sold:
- As part of a bundle
- Individually
- In other bundles
COGS Tracking
Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) tracking enables accurate profitability analysis:
Setting Up COGS
- Navigate to Settings → COGS
- Click "Add Product Cost"
- Search for your product
- Enter the cost per unit
- Save the changes
COGS Data Fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Product | Select from your product catalog |
| Cost per Unit | Your cost to produce/acquire the item |
| Currency | Your store currency |
| Last Updated | When the cost was last updated |
Important: COGS is required for accurate profitability grades. Without COGS data, all bundles will show as "Unknown" profitability.
Bundle Metrics
Each bundle tracks these performance metrics:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Total Revenue | Sum of all bundle sales |
| Gross Profit | Revenue minus component COGS |
| Gross Margin | Profit as percentage of revenue |
| Units Sold | Number of bundle orders |
